‘It doesn’t have to be an extraordinary day to be memorable.’ Photograph: David Nevala/

I stumbled upon the Experience section of The Guardian last night. It’s a series of first person narratives where people tell about their unique experiences: “I was swallowed by a hippo,” “my cat saved my life,” “I was the daughter of a mafia boss.” …just to name a few.  If you’re ever feeling down or ungrateful for what you have, read these stories.  They’ll give you perspective.

saractall in South Dakota

My recent road trip to South Dakota called for eight hours in the car each way.  Phew! Luckily I found out about Lianne La Havas via NPR’s All Songs Considered. She’s pretty much the love child of Adele and John Legend. Have a listen…

I downloaded Penultimate for my iPad and have been doing some figure doodles.  It’s a very simple drawing/sketching program, but it syncs with Evernote like a charm!

I decided to go with Carbonmade for my first online portfolio because of its simple/easy-to-use interface.  Their logo isn’t intrusive and you get 5 projects and 35 image for FREE.  Their yearly cost is only $120 which isn’t horrible.  Maybe I’ll look into it when my current portfolio gets me a decent job.
